The Malta Gaming Authority is a European regulator located on the small island of Malta on the south of Italy. In the beginning of 2015, Malta Lottery and Gaming Authority body was renamed to Malta Gaming Authority. Historically, the MGA has been very slow to respond to players??? inquiries. However, the MGA representatives assured us, in the beginning of 2015, that they were going to hire more staff. Also, they promised to add live chat for direct communication with players and to speed the work of support. In our experience, this is the first regulator to introduce such features, and, definitely, it will be beneficial to the whole market, particularly to the players. 

It stands to mention that under the old name, being slow to report to players??? complaints, the MGA remained one of the top regulators concerning direct contact. The MGA may be said to enjoy considerable popularity among players, who are loyal to this regulator. Still, the MGA is highly ranked by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission. As the British players are authorized to play only in casinos holding active British government license, the MGA acts as a mediator for decisions upon Birmingham license granting. In other words, the UKGC checks Maltese license prior to issuing the British one.
